With an overall Uw value as low as 0.8W/m2K, the Cero IV is suitable for passive house projects. Uw values are a measure of how effective a door or window including glass and frames is at stopping heat transfer between the inside and outside. The Cero IV's outstanding thermal insulation in spite of its huge glass surfaces is thanks to the use of fibreglass-reinforced plastics in the forend section. The vertical sections of the panel frames are made of stepped-edge glazing. The outside pane almost completely covers the vertical panel profiles, making the glass front look completely transparent – especially when it is made up of multiple panels.
